How to give your baby a bath.

Bath time is a great way to play with your child. Provide baby toys for bath time, such as a floating rubber duck. Your baby will discover sense of touch and sensation while taking a bath. For baby and mommy, it is scary to give baby bath for the first time.

Bathing a baby is a nervous task for new parents. Two important things to remember when bathing a toddler is to never leave the baby unattended at the bath tub - not even a moment, and always test the water temperature before placing the baby in the tub. A little neat trick is to place a warm small towel on the baby's chest if the baby begins to cry.

A few things to prepare for a bath: a baby bath tub, baby towel, baby shampoo, and showering sponges are some of the basic products to bathe a baby.

Follow these simple step-by-step instructions:

1. First prepare your baby bath tub with warm water. Hold up your baby's head or let someone hold him while you gently wash his body. Place a warm cloth over his belly to prevent your child from getting cold- this can also calm the baby as well.  Keep a hand on him while taking him a bath.

2. You can let your baby float on the water for minute. The floating provides the baby a womb-like environment. This can relax the baby.

3. Wash your baby gently and thoroughly with special design mild baby shampoo and bathing products. Baby skin is very sensitive, and it is imperative that you use baby specific products. Pay more attention to the baby's neck, armpit and genital areas when washing. Lastly, wash your baby’s thoroughly to avoid soap particles left behind.

4. Baths should not  take longer than to thoroughly cleanse the baby, or else baby would get chilled since warm water would get cold after few minutes. Be sure with wash the baby thoroughly. It takes some practice, but you will get the hang of it after a short while.

The most important thing to remember is to never leave the baby alone in the tub.
